She will be in a hospital bed over the Christmas season.
We provided books and educational resources to Sharon and other children in hospitals from underserved communities.
You can give the gift of literacy this holiday season to help children like Sharon discover the joy of reading.
Being sick and in hospital can be a very scary, stressful, confusing, and lonely time for chronically ill children. The World Literacy Foundation’s project “Read for Wellness”, provides children with serious medical issues; hard copy books and eBooks that provide comfort and reassurance during their stay. The books cover topics such as ‘what to expect during hospital stays’ to ‘having an operation’.
“Read for Wellness is an oasis for children and their parents alike, providing books to fuel their imagination.”Maria Gregory, Read for Wellness
“Under my Christmas Tree this year is a Holiday Season card, from my donation to support children with books in my local children’s hospital, through the ‘Read for Wellness’ project.”Donor
