The World Literacy Foundation is thrilled to announce the partnership with Cindy O. Charles, Founder, and CEO of Kupanda Sisters, Inc. in April 2020.
We are joining forces to implement Sun Books in Georgetown, Guyana. The first pilot program and training will be launched at Sophia Primary School.
Sun Books is an initiative of the World Literacy Foundation that strives to make a transformative change in off-the-grid classrooms with limited or no access to electricity, the Internet, and educational resources.
By preloading solar-powered tablet devices with locally relevant content aligned with an existing curriculum, Sun Books aims to increase both teacher and student performance. The tablets are equipped with more than 400 e-books in English and 50 e-books in local languages and activities for primary education learners
At the World Literacy Foundation, we believe in the power of collaboration, and Literacy is a right that all children deserve as part of their basic human right to education. Hand in Hand we will work in giving more children these opportunities.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your school community.
Kupanda Sisters’ mission is to uplift women and young people in underserved communities by providing them with quality literacy resources and skills that would equip and empower them to transform their reality, unleash their full potential, and become meaningful contributors to their communities and our world.
