“I was born in rural Québec, Canada to a family of seven children. We were raised on a farm and although my parents were not schooled above elementary level, they always encouraged my siblings and I to strive for the higher education. My first memories of reading are with my father. Each morning he would sit at the kitchen table reading the newspaper and I would often sit beside him, looking over his shoulder. Fifty years later, I am still an avid consumer of news although now I access it through my tablet. The times have changed and the points of access are different but the tradition of reading has continued!”
