Mother Day

Mother Day

This Mother’s Day, join us in celebrating moms around the world who believe in the power of a book.

Behind all your stories is your mother's story, for hers is where yours begins.

11-year-old Mukyala Caroline from Jinja, Uganda is grateful for her mother’s nurture and support to help her to learn to read and write.

Dembe says: “We don’t have much, but l believe literacy is the key for my daughter to reach her full potential. Thanks to the World Literacy Foundation for bringing the Sun Books project to our community, Mukyala Caroline has discovered the joy of reading.”

This Mother’s Day, you can give the gift of literacy as a tribute to your mother.

Your Tribute donation will ensure other children like Mukyala Caroline can receive books and extra support to discover a love and habit of reading - a passport to a better future.

“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.”
- Kofi Annan

The World Literacy Foundation is providing literacy projects in the USA, UK, Africa, Canada, Latin America, and Indigenous communities in Australia.

We serve communities that need it most

Illiteracy has lifelong economic and social consequences, and we are here to change this problem with your support.

Your gift of literacy as a tribute to your mother will be used to ensure children can access books.

Apart from the educational benefits, a book opens a world of imagination, curiosity, and knowledge.
